Cozumel, one of the main tourism destinations of Caribbean Mexico, is an idyllic island, some 200 kilometres off the coast of Mexico. This area is ideal to explore by boat, hire a yacht to take to the Yucatan peninsula, explore other islands of the Caribbean, or take the chance to go diving and sailing. Cozumel is an island belonging to the state of Quintana Roo, and is located opposite the Playa del Carmen. Around 100,000 inhabitants live on the island. This is a tourist destination, visited by many cruise ships, and it has numerous hotels, hostels, apartments, houses and chalets available. There is a wide range of leisure options, and the pleasant climate allows visitors to enjoy outdoor activities such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, boating, diving, trekking, and cultural visits to the main towns.
